Crescendo of productivity for top 100 US law firm Baker Donelson
500 attorneys across 16 offices to be equipped with DigiScribe-XL by 2008
Laval, Quebec, October 15, 2007 - Crescendo announced today that US law firm, Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC is in the process of implementing its DigiScribe-XL. The law firm, ranked by The National Law Journal in 2006 as one of the 100 largest in the US, chose to deploy an integrated digital dictation, transcription and workflow management system after extensive market research and a successful pilot with Crescendo in 2006. The system was first rolled out in 2007 to 280 users in the firm's Jackson, MS and Chattanooga, TN offices. The project is now entering its second phase of implementation to encompass all 16 offices across the country - 500 attorneys and public policy and international advisors in total.
John D. Green, CIO comments: "We were really looking at a true enterprise solution able to centralize transcription work, boost our report turnaround time and reduce documentation costs. We evaluated different vendors and tested their respective solutions, but it soon became clear that Crescendo was the only one offering the wealth of dictation features and advanced workflow management required for a law firm of our size."

The new DigiScribe-XL system allows attorneys to dictate either from their PC or mobile Olympus DS-4000 recorders, regardless of their location. The Crescendo Wide Area Service has been implemented in the background to securely stream voice files over to the secretarial team in real-time. All 100 secretaries are equipped with the DigiPlayer-IP digital transcription application, which allows them to easily view and manage workloads while benefiting from crystal-clear sound quality. Thanks to the system's advanced routing mechanism, the entire dictation-to-transcription workflow is now fully automated and monitored, allowing for significant improvements in report turnaround and productivity at Baker Donelson.

"Baker Donelson is a perfect example of how advanced workflow management technology is best applied in a large enterprise," states Costa Mandilaras, President, Crescendo Systems Corporation. "Large law firms are not just looking at switching from analogue to digital dictation. They are looking at rich workflow logic able to support complex documentation workflows as well as a future-proof system that can adapt to their evolving needs. This is exactly what Crescendo is offering them," concludes Mandilaras.
